I live in North London, work for The Cloud a start-up WiFi service provider.

When not working I'm probably sailing an International 14. Why anyone sails any other kind of boat is beyond me. The 14 combines high performance, composite manufacture (yep, we built the boat in the photo) and design (it's basically a box rule). I appreciate the other development classes, such as the cherub, moth (I've even got an old one), 12ft skiff, A-class cat, although they either don't have the international competition or are single handed and therefor less social :). My favourite sailing venue is the host to the 2004 European championships in Brunnen, Switzerland, although I do fancy visiting Hawaii.
I'm on the UK I14 committee as webmaster and host and maintain the main and GBR web sites and generally try and support 14 web sites around the world. It gives me a chance to use my server which runs FreeBSD (bit of a FreeBSD fan, although Fedora and Linux 2.6 is bringing me round!), Apache, Exim, MySQL and PHP4.

Other interests include movies (home cinema), books, antique computers (I've got a microvax II, say no more). Favourite movies include Godfather, the LOTR trilogy, Aliens and Apocalypse now (but this changes from day to day). Favourite books include stuff by Asimov, Stephen Fry, Neal Stephenson, John Le Carre....
